The Covid-19 pandemic has brought unprecedented challenges to farmers worldwide, particularly in India, where agriculture serves as a cornerstone of the economy. This study explores the adaptation strategies employed by Indian farmers to navigate the complex web of health, psychological, financial, and marketing challenges brought about by the pandemic. Using a structured interview schedule data was collected from 180 farmers across Raichur and Y.S.R districts of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, encompassing farmers with irrigated and dryland farming conditions. The study revealed multifaceted psychological adaptation strategies adopted by farmers at individual, family, and village levels. In addition farm expenditure, financial and marketing adaptations were also studied. The results revealed that of all the 180 farmers 35.56 per cent were in the medium adaptation strategies followed category, while equal per cent i.e., 32.22 per cent were in the low and high adaptation strategies followed category. Despite facing hardships such as increased expenditure on inputs, reduced access to markets, and limited mobility, farmers have demonstrated resilience and ingenuity in navigating the crisis.
