Abstract:

Fungal pathogens of plant play important role in the quality, quantity and profitability of plant in production. Persistently, these pathogens avoid plant defences causing disease, affecting the quality of yield globally. Incurring losses of billions US dollars annually. Farmers depends on synthetic fungicides to control plant diseases which results in drawbacks such as development of resistance, environmental toxicity associated with the chemicals as well as health hazards. These setbacks have spur researchers to investigate other alternatives to chemicals used. This study revealed the potentials of Syzygium aromaticum as suitable alternative to synthetic fungicide in the control of Fusarium wilt of Potato.
