Abstract:

Hygiene plays a crucial role in maintaining health and preventing the spread of diseases. This study was conducted to assess the hygiene management practices adopted by college-going girls in Hisar district, Haryana, across four domains: personal, food, domestic, and environmental hygiene. A total of 100 respondents were selected randomly from two girls’ colleges to analyze their knowledge and practices before media exposure. The findings revealed that a majority of the respondents fell into the low to medium hygiene practice categories across all domains. Specifically, 72% of respondents were in the low category for personal hygiene, 66% for food hygiene, 69% for domestic hygiene, and 73% for environmental hygiene. These results indicate a pressing need for educational interventions and awareness programs to improve hygiene-related practices among young women.
