The design and fabrication of a biogas plant model which is convenient to handle and easy to operate was aim of present study. The growth of agriculture and industry requires energy as one of its prior requirements. Rising global concern over the energy crisis has sparked the onset of the so-called 'recycling revolution'. Biogas, as an alternative source of energy, has been widely recognized in several countries. Among the various alternative energy sources, a major role is assigned to biogas energy, especially with reference to the rural sector. The material used for the digester and gas holder was plastic drums of 4 mm thickness. The inlet and outlet pipes of PVC material and a gas cock were fitted at the top of the gas holder. The annual process of model of biogas plant includes three stages viz. Design, Fabrication and Costing. The cost of fabricated of portable biogas plant which having capacity of 0.047 m³ was estimated as Rs.1140/-. Thus, for a family of four people requiring two to instead of using plastic drums for digester and as holder PVC tank can be used for convenience.
