Abstract:

The present study was conducted to assess knowledge of rural people regarding Government financial inclusion schemes. Ten villages of two talukas namely Deesa and Vadgam of Banaskantha district, Gujarat were randomly selected. The total sample of the study was 200 respondents consisting of 100 male and 100 female. Multi stage random sampling was used for drawing sample. Data was collected by using interview technique and analyzed by using frequency, percentage, mean per cent score, and 'z' test. Findings reveal that the majority of the respondents had medium knowledge followed by low and high knowledge about Government schemes that connect people with financial inclusion. Male exhibited higher knowledge about Government schemes than female. Thus, efforts should be made to impart knowledge and develop understanding regarding Government schemes to rural people and increase their level of financial inclusion.
